Module 2. Physics

Transfer of heat from a hot area to a cold area is

  • conduction.
  • convection.
  • refraction.

Explanation

Conduction is heat transfer through direct molecular contact within or between materials, always flowing from the hotter region to the colder one until equilibrium. Refraction is the bending of light, not a mode of heat transfer at all, so it can be ruled out immediately.

Nino asking:

Area should be defined for this question.
if solid yes your answer is right otherwise all 3 choices are correct.

Convection is a transfer of 'matter' from one place to another. Radiation is a system which heats up anything in its path. but heat is not 'transferred'.
