Module 2. Physics

An aircraft flies 1350 nmiles in 2h 15mins. What is the average speed?

  • 600 nmiles/hour.
  • 675 nmiles/hour.
  • 150 nmiles/hour.

Explanation

Average speed is distance divided by time. The time of 2 h 15 min equals 2.25 hours, so speed = 1350 / 2.25 = 600 knots. Dividing by 2 hours instead would give 675, and the 150 figure has no consistent basis.

Correct answer is 600 nmiles/hour.because 2hr 15 minutes beans 2.25 hour.when you consider one hour as 1 than 15 minutes will be .25.so divide 1350 by 2.25 you will get 600 which is the desired answer for this question.
