Module 7 — Maintenance Practices

7.16(a) — Weight and Balance — Centre of Gravity

Practice questions test what you know. This note teaches what you don’t.

Question banks train recall. The questions that decide a pass are the borderline ones, where two answers look right — and those are won by understanding. That is what this note is written for.

Locked Inside this note

An aircraft must be loaded so that its centre of gravity (CG) falls within defined limits for safe flight. A CG outside limits affects controllability, stability, stall characteristics, and structural loading. Every maintenance engineer must understand how to calculate the CG position and verify that it remains within the approved envelope after maintenance actions, equipment changes, or modifications.
