What this type rating covers

Full ATA coverage

Every ATA chapter of the 737NG type course, from structures and systems through avionics and the powerplant.

Single engine type

One powerplant to learn: the CFM56-7B fitted across the whole NG family.

The Boeing 737 Next Generation (737NG) — the 737-600, -700, -800 and -900/-900ER — is one of the most widely operated narrow-body families in service. This question bank follows the structure of a 737NG type-rating and continuation-training course, organised by ATA chapter so revision maps directly onto the maintenance documentation and the type course.

Coverage spans the full airframe and systems syllabus: air conditioning and pressurisation, autoflight and the flight management system, communications and navigation, electrical and hydraulic power, flight controls, fuel, ice and rain protection, landing gear, the pneumatic and bleed system, and the structural chapters. The powerplant chapters address the single CFM56-7B installation, its controls, indicating and starting.

Suitable for initial type-rating preparation or recurrent knowledge checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What format is the question bank in?
A single bookmarked PDF file. Open it on any device — computer, tablet or phone — with any PDF reader. It works completely offline.
Are the correct answers included?
Yes. Every question has its correct answer clearly marked, so you can study and self-test effectively.
How quickly will I receive the download link?
Immediately after payment is confirmed. The link is emailed to you and is valid for 12 hours. If you have any issues, contact us at info@part66online.com.
How is this different from the online Boeing 737NG quizzes?
The PDF contains the same Boeing 737NG questions as the online platform, in a convenient offline format you can study anywhere. The online subscription adds interactive per-chapter practice, progress tracking and weak-area review.
Can I print it?
Absolutely. The PDF is formatted for A4 with clean typography — print a single ATA chapter or the entire bank.
What is the Boeing 737NG type rating?
The 737NG type rating is the aircraft-specific authorisation for the Boeing 737 Next Generation family (737-600, -700, -800, -900 and -900ER). For Part-66 engineers it sits on top of a Category B1.1 or B2 licence and is earned through a Part-147-approved 737NG type-training course followed by on-the-job training.
Is the 737NG the same type rating as the 737 Classic?
No. The 737NG (-600 through -900ER) is a distinct EASA type rating from the 737 Classic (-300/-400/-500). The NG introduced a new wing, CFM56-7B engines, glass cockpit displays and many system changes, so engineers cross-rating between Classic and NG complete a separate type or differences course.
Are 737-600, -700, -800, and -900ER all covered?
Yes. All four NG variants are covered under one type rating and the question bank reflects that. Variant-specific details (mostly fuselage length, landing gear and APU/bleed differences on the -900 and -900ER) are noted in the relevant ATA chapters.
