Module 11. Aeroplane aerodynamics, structures and systems

When pressurising the aircraft on the ground for test purposes, internal doors, cupboards etc. must be

  • all open.
  • removed.
  • all closed.

Explanation

During a ground pressurisation test all internal doors, cupboards and partitions must be left open so the test pressure is applied uniformly throughout the fuselage. Closing them could trap differential pressures across light internal panels and damage them; removing them is unnecessary and unrepresentative of normal sealing.

jharo asking:

If is all open, you can´t pressurise the aircraft

Internal doors- door to the cockpit, door to the toilette, cupboard doors.
NOT entry/exit doors.
