The frequency of the output of a 4 pole generator is 400 Hz. The generator is turning at

  • 6000 RPM.
  • 12000 RPM.
  • 3000 RPM.

Explanation

Speed in RPM equals 120 times the frequency divided by the number of poles: (120 x 400) / 4 = 12000 RPM. With four poles (two pole pairs) the rotor must turn this fast to generate 400 Hz. The 3000 RPM figure would only suit a much higher pole count for the same frequency.

1Hz=1 turn/sec
400Hz=24000RPM (400*60)
there is 4 pole, but you have to think to have only pos and neg.
then 24000/2=12000

Or you can use formula 120*f\number of poles
