A perforated ear drum could occur if

  • you were exposed to intermittent noise above 25 kHz.
  • you frequently blew your nose with excessive force.
  • you were subjected to continuous noise below 8 kHz.

Explanation

The eardrum can be perforated by a sudden pressure surge transmitted up the Eustachian tube, such as blowing the nose too forcefully. Ordinary continuous or intermittent noise at the levels stated does not rupture the membrane; it is the abrupt mechanical overpressure that tears it.

20Hz to 20 Khz is an audible frequency range for human ear.

it is normal but the answer says "continuous" which is bad regardless the frequency.
