If a 1 ohm circuit produces a 50 W output, the phase angle is

  • 45degrees.
  • 0degrees.
  • 90degrees.

Explanation

A resistor produces real (true) power output, so a 1ohm element dissipating 50 W behaves resistively, with current and voltage in phase. That corresponds to a power factor of one and a phase angle of 0 degrees; reactive elements would store, not dissipate, the power.

Hello.

Here is explanation from question bank: Going by the power being quoted in Watts (rather than VA) the circuit is purely resistive and therefore the phase angle is 0 degrees.

Maybe someone can provide more detailed explanation.
