In a Turn and Slip indicator, the effect of increasing the rotor speed would be

  • it would have no effect.
  • it would under read.
  • it would over read.

Explanation

The needle deflection is proportional to the precessing torque, which rises with rotor angular momentum. Increasing rotor speed makes a given rate of turn produce a larger precession and gimbal movement, so the instrument over-reads the turn rate. This is why the rotor speed must be held to the design value.
