Module 3. Electrical fundamentals

Conductance of a circuit is 2 milliMhos. What is its resistance?

  • 5000 Ohms.
  • 500 Ohms.
  • 5 Megohms.

Explanation

Resistance is the reciprocal of conductance, so R = 1/G. With G = 2 milliMhos = 0.002 siemens, R = 1/0.002 = 500 ohms. The 5000-ohm answer mishandles the milli prefix and 5 megohms is off by orders of magnitude.

Can someone do this ?

Conductance is equal to 1/R (R is Resistance), so R=1/Conductance, that is 1/0,002Mhos=500Ohms
