If you have an aircraft that is more laterally stable then directionally stable it will tend to

  • bank.
  • slip.
  • skid.

Explanation

When lateral stability exceeds directional stability, a disturbance is corrected quickly in roll but only slowly in yaw, so the aircraft tends to hold the bank while the nose lags, sliding outward in a skid. The reverse balance, with directional stability dominant, would instead produce a tendency to slip.
