Actually both answers can be correct.
If you selected third one, you are also correct.

The FAA consider mercury to be a cause of hydrogen embritlement.

cause degradation of the structure. the only thing sure is that this statement can't be true (may cause impaired corrosion resistance if left in prolonged contact) because mercury can't increase (cause corrosion resistance) if in contact with alu or alu alloy. see: youtu.be/IrdYueB9pY4
