Module 2. Physics

If you push an object with a force of 5 N for 10 m in 4 seconds, how much power is used?

  • 12.5 watts.
  • 50.0 watts.
  • 2.50 watts.

Explanation

Power is work divided by time. Work = force x distance = 5 N x 10 m = 50 J, done in 4 s, so power = 50 / 4 = 12.5 W. The 50 W distractor mistakes the work done for the power.

Hello!
There is nothing to explain. Just remember: Watt= N*m/sec.
Thank you for question.

Power = Work / Time
